FSSI Link #3

As National Reconciliation Week 2020 draws to a close, we have been privileged and heartened to see people coming together in many different ways to mark and reflect on the 20th anniversary of the bridge walks of 2000. While there is much to celebrate, it is important to acknowledge how far we still have to go to building a shared future with Australia’s First Peoples. As we watch the grief and outrage and protests against the death of George Floyd in police custody in the United States, the hundreds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have died in custody here in Australia in recent years and the thousands more who continue to face entrenched discrimination and injustice are in the forefront of our hearts and minds.

In keeping with the theme of National Reconciliation Week #InThisTogether, this week in FSSI Link we focus on partnership and the enormous impact that individuals and organisations can have when they unite around a common goal.
