Hearing the voices of people with lived experience of disability is an important part of our Certificate III in Individual Support curriculum. Students have questions right from the start of the course – what is it like to live in an ableist world? What kinds of qualities would people with disabilities like to see in support workers?
Today our brand new Cert III students had an honest discussion with panellists representing Access Inc. and Down Syndrome Victoria around language, choice, equality and respect, gaining first hand knowledge to provide intuitive care.
